The lion is a big cat that lives in Africa and Asia, in fact all but India in Asia, on the African savannah. It is the largest cat in existence in terms of average weight.

Lions live in a variety of environments, including grasslands, forests, swamps, bushes, hills and even deserts.

In the wild, lions can live 10 to 14 years, and even longer in human captivity, typically upwards of twenty years. They often kill other warm-blooded animals by ambush, as lions are masters of sprinting and less so of long-distance running.

The location of a lion's ambush is also very specific. The best place is by a pool of water, which is where the animals are most often found, and water is precious and necessary in the heat of Africa.

In today's drawing tutorial, we are going to learn how to draw a lion's face. Obviously, this is a male lion with a thick mane that looks very majestic and kingly!
