Step 1 Outline the head of this parrotfish.

Except for the fins, we will draw this parrotfish in order from left to right. So in the first step we will draw its head first.

Start by drawing a wavy line that slopes to the right, like a flying goose. It is close to being symmetrical.

At the bottom of this wavy line, draw the mouth of this parrotfish. It's smiling, and you can see if its beak looks a little bit like a parrot's.

Step 2 Draw the head and one eye of this parrot fish.

Draw a curve from your mouth to the right to create a valley. Then draw a curve from the top to the bottom and this completes the outline of the head.

Near the top of the head, we're going to draw one of the big eyes of this parrotfish on the face. This eye consists of three circles of different sizes and a horizontal curve is drawn at the base of the eye for the cheek.

After drawing this nice big eye, we will also add a curve from left to right above it. In this way, we have completed the head of this parrotfish.

Step 3 Outline the body of this parrotfish.

Next, we're going to draw the body of this parrotfish to the right of the head. You'll notice that it has a round body, and if you have a proper tool or prop, you can easily accomplish this step.

Of course, you can also try your best to complete the body of this fish by hand drawing it yourself. Draw a smooth curve from the top of this fish's head toward the bottom right.

Draw a smooth curve from the bottom of the head toward the top right. The ends of these two lines are opposite each other. Leave a gap on the right side of the body.

Step 4 Draw a fin on the back of this parrotfish.

On the back of this parrotfish, we are going to draw a fin. It's about the same size as the one on the belly, and are the two largest fins on this parrotfish.

Starting from the back, draw a curve to the right and then extend it towards the bottom left to reach the body of the parrotfish to get the outline of the fin.

On the upper part of this fin, we add four curves from left to right that are close in length.

Step 5 Draw the tail of this parrotfish.

Let's look to that gap on the right side of this parrotfish's body, and we'll draw this fish's tail to the right of it.

This tail is symmetrical up and down and looks like one of the petals of some kind of flower. You can start by drawing an incomplete oval. Then connect it to that gap to get the outline of the tail.

Add lines to this tail as shown in the picture, which gives this tail a more textured and three-dimensional look.

Step 6 Draw a fin on the belly of this parrotfish.

On the belly of this parrotfish, we will also draw a large fin. By comparison you can see that it's almost identical to the one on the back, so you know how to finish it.

Starting from the belly draw a curve towards the top right and then extend it towards the top left to reach the body. We get the outline of this fin.

Add three curves to the upper part and three to the lower part of this fin. The general look of this parrot fish has come out.

Step 7 Draw two fins at the base of the head.

The two fins at the base of the head are the same size and about the same shape, both oval. That means we just have to draw the two ovals and add lines to complete them.

You can start by drawing the outline of the fin on the right and then draw the one on the left. These two fins form an angle close to 30 degrees.

Add one line to the fin on the left one and two lines to the one on the right. These two fins are complete.

Step 8 Draw another fin to the right of the head.

To the right of the head, let's draw the last fin of this parrotfish. It's oval and slopes to the left, looking like a cantaloupe.

Work on drawing a smooth oval shape first. It should hug the right side of the head, or at least not cross that line.

Inside this oval, add four curves symmetrically. We've finished this parrot fish, next we just need to color it!

Step 9 Color this cute parrot fish.

Parrotfish come in many different colors, so you can refer to the picture above to paint it red, or you can try green, purple, or even with stripes and so on.

Here we will paint this parrotfish red with orange fins while the eyes are yellow and the inside of the mouth is dark red.

After painting this cute parrot fish, if you feel that it is still lacking, you can try adding water plants, shells, rocks, bubbles and other water creatures and so on as a background.
