SpongeBob is a cartoon character who lives in the ocean. He's not a fish, though. He's a sponge! He's bright yellow and shaped like a rectangle, just like a kitchen sponge. He's always smiling and has a really happy face.

SpongeBob lives in a pineapple house under the sea. Can you imagine living in a pineapple? That's so cool! He has a pet snail named Gary. Gary doesn't talk, but he makes a “meow” sound, just like a kitty cat.

SpongeBob works at a place called the Krusty Krab. It's a restaurant where he makes the yummiest burgers in the world called Krabby Patties. He loves his job and is always flipping burgers with a big smile on his face.

He has lots of friends. There's Patrick, who's a pink starfish. Patrick is really silly and does funny things. Then there's Squidward, who's a grumpy octopus. He lives next to SpongeBob in a house that looks like an Easter island head. Even though Squidward is grumpy, SpongeBob and Patrick still like to play with him sometimes.

SpongeBob also has a friend named Sandy. She's a squirrel who lives in a big glass ball filled with air because she can't breathe underwater. She's really strong and smart.

SpongeBob loves to have fun. He plays lots of games and goes on adventures with his friends. He's always excited about new things and tries his best to be a good friend.
