A long time ago, there was a show about a very special dog. Most of the time, he was a regular, clumsy dog named Shoeshine Boy. He had a simple job: polishing people's shoes. He was shy and often a little sad. Nobody ever noticed him.
But when trouble appeared and someone cried for help, Shoeshine Boy would run to a phone booth (like the one Superman used!) to change his clothes. In a flash, he became... UNDERDOG!
Underdog was strong, brave, and could fly! He wore a red cape and a blue suit with a big "U" on it. He always flew through the sky to save the day.
He loved a beautiful dog named Sweet Polly Purebred. The bad guys, like the evil Simon Bar Sinister, were always trying to cause trouble and capture Polly. But they were no match for Underdog!
As Shoeshine Boy, he was the nobody everyone ignored. As Underdog, he was the mighty hero everyone cheered for. He even had a fun theme song that everyone would sing along to: “There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!"
That's the story of Underdog—the superhero shoeshine dog who saved the city and always got the girl! If you like him too, follow the step-by-step instructions below to learn how to draw Underdog!
