A mummy is a pretend monster that is super fun to dress up as for Halloween! Imagine someone from a very, very long time ago in ancient Egypt.
When very important people there died, they were wrapped up in special long white strips of cloth called bandages. This was a way to honor them.
After a very long time, stories began that these wrapped-up people could magically come back to life!

It looks like a person wrapped in white toilet paper or bandages—like a big, silly toilet paper hug! It walks slow and funny, going, “Uhhhhhh, I’m a mummy!”
But don’t worry—it’s not real. Just kids and grown-ups dressing up for fun and maybe asking, “Trick or treat? Give me something sweet!”
Sometimes we leave just one eye peeking out, or we draw big, scary black circles around our eyes with makeup to look mysterious. In today's drawing tutorial, we'll follow step-by-step instructions to learn how to draw a mummy's face!
