Have you ever seen a drawing of a white, bony head with big black eyes? That’s called a skull. It’s like the skeleton of a head!
On Halloween, we see skulls everywhere! On costumes, decorations, and candy wrappers. But don't be scared! They aren't meant to be really scary. They are just silly-spooky fun.
A long, long time ago, people believed that on the night of Halloween, the line between our world and the spirit world got very thin. Skulls and skeletons were a simple way to show that spirits were nearby.

Today, we use them for a different reason. It’s like dressing up for a play! We pretend to be skeletons, ghosts, or monsters. It’s not real—it’s just a game of make-believe.
The joke is that the skull is trying to look scary... but it’s not! It’s just a silly plastic decoration or a drawing on a shirt. We laugh at it!
